Just knew that there is a platform like here to raise fund for someone's research. It is similar to those website like Kickstarter.com, IndieGoGo.com, by seeking funds from the public.
Anyone can post their research proposal here, stating your needed budget and a short description of your research. Anyone can donate or contribute for the funding. The fund will be given in an all-or-nothing model, which means that either you will receive the money once you have surpass the funding goal within the set timeline, or nothing will pay you.
The experiments are usually seeking for small funding, well, to be as a supporting fund.
A project regarding the Penang seahorse survey has posted by a Malaysian student for his degree final year project (a "wow" from me!). It is still ongoing of raising fund for 19 days. Hopefully he will success before the timeline. Hehe.
