Day 122: Plants for improving air quality





 1. Spider plant 吊兰
-Chlorophytum comosum
- With lots of rich foliage and tiny white flowers, the spider plant battles benzene, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide and xylene, a solvent used in the leather, rubber and printing industries.

2. Bird nest fern 雀巢厥

- Bird's-Nest Fern had superior properties to CO2 adsorption, temperature and humidity conditioning to indoor air quality improvement.
- Absorb and fix formaldehyde, benzene, and nicotine


3. Pandan leaf plant 香兰叶

- A natural cockroach repellent, left in drawers and cupboards can help to keep cockroaches away. (Terpenes and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline (2AP))

4. Malabar chestnut 发财树,马拉巴粟

- Reduces airborne formaldehyde and carbon dioxide.




5. Rubber plant 橡皮树

- Clean the air by emitting high oxygen content, and purifies indoor air by removing chemicals, such as formaldahyde or other toxins.

* Might be toxic to pets.



6. Snake plant 虎尾兰
- Absorb toxins, such as nitrogen oxides and formaldahyde.
- Tolerates low light levels and irregular watering.
